Additionally, it presents a groundbreaking opportunity for rising musicians to learn from renowned pedagogues through a series of intensive masterclasses and compete in world-class violin, piano and cello contests.
Among the spectacular roster of luminaries performing at this year's grand affair is none other than one of the most innovative and sensational violinists of today, Roman Kim. A Kazakhstani-German maestro praised for his virtuosity, pioneering technical mastery, flawless technique and dynamic artistry, he is recognised all over the world for playing with unconventional prismatic glasses covering half of his face.
The virtuoso garnered international recognition after winning the 2012 International Violin Competition "Valsesia Musica" with his memorable performance of Bach’s Air, showcasing his impeccable ability of playing all four parts of the score on one instrument. Renowned for his devotion to the violin and explosive performative energy, Kim has performed in reputable venues all around the globe, such as the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the Cologne Philharmonic, the Romanian Athenaeum, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Munich Herkulessaal, the Beijing Concert Hall, the Seoul Arts Centre, the Franz List Music Academy Budapest and the Taipei National Concert Hall, etc alongside orchestras like the NDR Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Halle, the Aachen Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli, the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra and the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, under the baton of prominent conductors such as Aziz Shokhakimov, Dirk Kaftan, Daejin Kim, Alexandre Bloch and Alpesh Chauhan.
As a soloist, Roman Kim is particularly devoted to the works of Niccolò Paganini and romantic works by great composers from the 19th century.
