Soloist Spotlight: Danish Violinist Nikolaj Znaider Set to Dazzle at the Accordi Musicali International Music Festival

This year's festival is scheduled to bring together an exceptional lineup of global talent for an unforgettable journey through the world of classical music. Among the maestros gracing the stage this year is none other than renowned Danish violinist Nikolaj Znaider, one of the most talented musicians in the repertoire and Music Director of the Orchestre National de Lyon.

Szeps-Znaider frequently collaborates as a guest conductor with many of the world’s leading orchestras; his recent and upcoming performances include appearances with the New York Philharmonic, Oslo Philharmonic, and Bamberg Symphony.

He has an extensive discography that features a significant portion of the core violin repertoire. His complete collection of Mozart’s Violin Concertos with the London Symphony Orchestra, where Szeps-Znaider conducts from the violin, prompted The Strad to describe his playing as “possibly among the most exquisite violin sounds ever captured on disc.” Other notable recordings include the Nielsen Violin Concerto with Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic, the Elgar Concerto in B minor with Sir Colin Davis and the Dresden Staatskapelle, as well as award-winning recordings of the Brahms and Korngold concertos with Valery Gergiev and the Vienna Philharmonic, among many others.

The virtuoso is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musical talent and serves as the President of the Nielsen Competition, which is held every three years in Odense, Denmark. He plays the "Kreisler" Guarnerius "del Gesù," crafted in 1741, which is on extended loan to him from The Royal Danish Theatre, thanks to the generosity of the VELUX Foundations, the Villum Fonden and the Knud Højgaard Foundation.
