Internationally celebrated pianist Andrey Gugnin will be among the major artists featured at the 2025 Accordi Musicali International Music Festival, bringing with him a compelling blend of electrifying virtuosity, poetic insight, and a growing legacy of award-winning performances. His appearance at this summer’s festival in Chieti and Pescara promises to be one of the season’s standout moments.
Since winning First Prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition in 2016, Gugnin has emerged as a dynamic force on the world stage, lauded for performances that are both deeply imaginative and technically masterful. Recent accolades include the 12th International German Piano Award (2023) and the Grand Prize at the 2024 Classic Piano International Competition in Dubai, where his commanding performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 captivated juries and audiences alike.
Gugnin’s global reach continues to expand through collaborations with renowned orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, Danish National Symphony, Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, and Netherlands Symphony Orchestra. He has performed under the batons of leading conductors including Valery Gergiev, Jaap van Zweden, Reinbert de Leeuw, Daniel Raiskin, and Asher Fisch. His Shostakovich album 24 Preludes – Piano Sonatas 1 & 2 (Hyperion) won the 2020 BBC Music Magazine Instrumental Award, and his Liszt Transcendental Etudes was hailed as Editor’s Choice by Gramophone. His most recent release—Scriabin’s complete Mazurkas—was named Recording of the Month by Limelight Magazine.
