Prizewinner at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition and an exclusive SONY Classical artist, Ferrández has been hailed by Le Figaro as a “new cello genius.” Praised for his technical mastery, expressive depth, and commanding stage presence, he has rapidly established himself as one of the most sought-after instrumentalists of his generation. The Pittsburgh Symphony famously introduced him as “the next Yo-Yo Ma,” a testament to the extraordinary impact of his artistry.

Ferrández’s recording career has further cemented his reputation. His debut album, Reflections (2021), released on Sony Classical, received widespread critical acclaim and was honored with the Opus Klassik Award. In 2022 he followed with a major release featuring Brahms’ Double Concerto alongside Anne-Sophie Mutter and the Czech Philharmonic under the direction of Manfred Honeck, as well as Clara Schumann’s Piano Trio with Mutter and Lambert Orkis.

Most recently, in May 2025, Ferrández released Moonlight Variations, including Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations, recorded with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and collaborators Martin Fröst and Julien Quentin. The album has once again drawn enthusiastic reviews, confirming his position at the forefront of the international cello scene.

His appearance at Accordi Musicali Festival 2026 promises to be a highlight of the season, offering audiences the opportunity to experience first-hand the artistry of a musician whose combination of brilliance, charisma, and emotional intensity continues to redefine the possibilities of the cello on the modern concert stage.
