Accordi Musicali 2022: Festival Schedule and Venues Announced

The full details for each of the ten concerts making up the 2022 Accordi Musicali International Classical Music Festival have been officially released. Organised by the CMDI (Classical Music Development Initiative) Group, this year’s edition of the popular festival will be spanning five weeks and three different locations, with dozens of artists and musicians from around the world set to travel to Italy in order to participate in the event.

The opening concert of the festival shall be taking place on the 11th of October in the Teatro Goldoni in the city of Livorno, and will feature South Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son alongside conductor Jee Won Park and the Orchestra del Teatro Goldoni di Livorno. This will be followed by a concert on the 13th of the month at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, with Park taking on conducting duties once again, in collaboration with the Orchestra del Teatro Goldoni di Livorno, the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, and Italian pianist Alessandro Taverna. Then, on October 23rd, it will be the turn of Israeli violinist Itamar Zorman to headline proceedings, with the soloist set to perform at the Teatro Sociale in Camogli, in partnership with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo and Armenian conductor Sergey Smbatyan.

Following this group of concerts, the Teatro Goldoni will be taking over hosting duties for the remainder of the festival, with the Orchestra del Teatro Goldoni di Livorno occupying the orchestral role. In fact, the ensemble will be featuring in the next concert, scheduled for the 29th of October, along with Australian-American soprano Danielle de Niese and Maestro Daniel Raiskin, while the the following day will see another performance, this time led by Gergely Madaras, and showcasing the talents of Austrian violinist Boris Brovtsyn.

The 3rd of November shall then see Latvian cellist Kristīne Blaumane and conductor Eric Lederhandler leading proceedings, while Chinese-American violinist Nancy Zhou will be heading the concert of November 4th, with the orchestra being conducted by Lederhandler once again. 

Heading into the festival’s last batch of concerts, Chinese pianist Zee Zee will be stepping on the stage of the Teatro Goldoni on the 10th of the month, with Wilson Ng being entrusted with conducting duties, while Italian clarinettist Fabrizio Meloni and conductor John Warner will be featuring in the event’s penultimate evening on the 11th of November. 

Finally, on November 19th, Italy’s own bandoneonist Fabio Furia will close off the festival with a special concert alongside the Orchestra del Teatro Goldoni di Livorno, who will be performing under the baton of another Italian artist – Maestro Mario Menicagli.
